My name is Braxton Morrison. I am the owner and instructor for Survive Today LLC. I am currently certified by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) as a police officer and work as such on a part-time basis. I also hold certifications as a firearms instructor through I.C.E. Training Company as a Defensive Firearms Coach (DFC) and the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a Basic Pistol Instructor. I have been doing firearms instruction for 5 years.

 

I have a comprehensive medical background that started in 2014 when I obtained certification from The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and licensure from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Since then, I have obtained my Paramedic certification and licensure, respectively. I also hold endorsements on my license as a Critical Care Paramedic and EMS Instructor through the IDPH. Since then, I have become a member of the National Association for Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), of which I am in good standing. Through the NAEMT I hold instructor certifications for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Provider (TECC).

 

In addition, I hold several certifications through; the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Red Cross (ARC), the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) as a basic life support instructor trainer (BLS-IT), and the American College of Surgeons as a Stop the Bleed Instructor Trainer. I also hold a Fire Fighter One certification along with Fire & Emergency Services Instructor One.

 

I have continued my education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Upper Iowa University along with a master's degree in emergency management from Walden University.

 

I do regular training throughout the year to maintain and develop skills in the areas of; verbal de-escalation, hand-to-hand grappling, medical skills, defensive knife and firearms among other areas. More professional information can be found on Linkedin.
